Tom Smitheringale is a grown up version of Action Man.
At 200cm tall and weighing in at 120kg (all of it muscle), Tom is a ‘hulk’ of a man, but with a heart of gold.

Tom as Anaconda Man, Junior Survivor, Gold Coast, Australia 2007
As a young man, Tom served as a soldier in the British Army. These days, Tom is an ‘adventure chaser’, putting himself in extreme situations in order to raise awareness and much needed funds for causes that he cares about.
On 15 September 2011, big Tom will set off on a 2,500km Egyptian odyssey through the Sahara desert. Braving sand storms and suffocating heat, he will kayak down the Nile, trek with camels through the desert and learn survival skills from local Bedouin tribes.
Why would any man do something so crazy?
“Every minute of every day, a child is admitted to hospital in Australia. Starlight has had huge success in brightening the lives of seriously ill children, and I am determined to raise enough money to enable Starlight to extend its programs and help put more smiles on more kid’s face, more often.” read more
