The Cause
Visiting a hospital is never fun. Even for the bravest souls, hospitals can be scary places.
The Starlight Children's Foundation tries to reverse that thinking by focusing on the experience around the experience providing programs to support the needs of seriously ill children and their families every step of the way.
Every minute of every day, a child is admitted to a hospital in Australia. Many of them will undergo intensive medical treatment, resulting in pain and stress for these children and their families.
While the health professionals focus on treating the illness, Starlight provides an opportunity for kids who've been dealt the rawest of raw deals, to forget their fears, to laugh and to simply be a child again.

These are just some of the initiatives that Starlight uses to truly transform the hospital experience and to build the resilienceofseriously ill children and their families.
“Starlight would love to be able to provide their services 7 days per week to all hospitals in Australia, but unfortunately current funding levels fall short of that objective. Starlight can only provide their programs for 3 days per week at some hospitals, due to lack of funding.
I hope that through this expedition, I can motivate you to support the Starlight Children's Foundation’s outstanding work and help ensure that its invaluable programs can be delivered 7 days per week to every children’s hospital in Australia.”
